Raveningham Country Fair

Saturday 5 September 2020

you can see some more photos in our Gallery.

Steam Engines, Classic Vehicles

and Vintage Machinery

We usually have  over 150 exhibits including working displays of threshing, wood sawing and chaff cutting - all by steam, full size and miniature steam engines, stationary barn engines, vintage tractors and classic cars, which attract many enthusiasts from all over East Anglia, both as exhibitors and as spectators.

Enjoy the sight and smells of yesterday! See a video of threshing made at the Fair and another of the impressive array of Stationary Engines. For photos of the past Fairs   visit our Gallery.

Entry for exhibitors is free but we ask you to pre-register and an application form is available by clicking here

We have a truly awe-inspiring line up of cars and bikes to look around and more importantly hear! Plus the owners are a really great bunch of characters who'll be happy to talk for hours about their pride and joy.

Exhibitors come from organisations including East Coast Pirates American Car Club, Lowestoft Classic Vehicle Club, Norwich Classic Vehicle Club, Waveney & District Preservation Society and East Anglia Transport Museum but we also welcome individual vehicle-owners.

In the Main Arena

Acts change each year but we usually have 3 on the programme. For latest information see our Facebook page.

Here are some of the recent attractions:

Owls and Birds of Prey

Presented by Fens Falconry.  As well as the static display there are two full flying displays. Watch your head as they fly in across the fair at low level.

These proved enormously popular in previous years. Come and see how skillfully these were designed for a nomadic life in Northern Europe or on the American plains.

Craftspeople including a weaver and blacksmiths from St Mary’s Forge will be showing their skills and selling their wares while Bob Lever will be making willow objects. This year we will also have a display of chainsaw carving and wood-turning.

Flags and Banners

The flags and banners decorating the site are provided by Helen Howes from the nearby Raveningham Craft Centre
